NOTICE TO BREESE PROPERTY TAXPAYERS

The Clinton County Clerk’s Office would like to inform the City of Breese taxpayers of an important temporary change to your property tax bill. You may notice that the line item for Breese Public Library District appears higher than usual this year. This increase is for one year only and is the result of a correction to last year’s tax bill.

Due to a programming error, the library district tax levy was unintentionally omitted from the previous year’s property tax bills. As a result, this year’s bill includes both the current year’s levy and the previously omitted amount.

We appreciate your understanding as we correct this issue. The tax amount for the library district will return to its normal level in the following year. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please contact our office at 618.594.6620.
